Be one of the first two people to reply with the correct name of the following woman, and you’ll win a “Live in the Light” New Testament Bible. “She lived in Poland and wanted to be a nun, but her parents wouldn’t let her go. So, she got wrapped up in vanities and neglected God’s call. Then, while at a dance, God clearly called her. She followed His lead, eventually entered a convent and is now a saint.” Who is she? For a hint, check out this cool website.

The longest single footbag rally occurred on June 17, 1997 when Ted “The Machine” Martin kept a footbag aloft for 8 hours 50 minutes and 42 seconds. By rule, the footbag could not touch the ground or his body above the waist. There were no bathroom breaks or footbag “stalls” allowed either. Ted’s incredible Guinness World record of 63,326 kicks may never be broken! Find more footbag records here.

Very Cool For ALL MEN:

There is this new project at The GIFT Foundation dubbed “e5men.” This project is dedicated to helping men live up to the words of St. Paul: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Eph 5:25). The strategy behind e5men is very simple: men pledge to fast for their
brides once a month (the first Wednesday). A man’s bride might be his wife, his fiance, his future wife whom he may not even have met yet, or the Church herself. Thus e5men membership is open to all baptized men, whether married, single or celibate. For more information or to join e5men, write info@e5men.org or visit this link.

Ask Heather

If you have a random question about LOVE, SEX, or RELATIONSHIPS, please send it my way (heather@reapteam.org). You might see your question published in future editions of this nifty little newsletter.

Dear Heather,
What’s so wrong with viewing pornography? How does looking at a few pictures or a movie hurt anyone? –Playboy supporter

Dear Playboy supporter,
Thanks for being honest. Know that I’m responding as a woman who is well aware of the temptation it is for many people to view pornography, thinking of it as “no big deal.” Especially with scrambled television, explicit shows and movies, and the Internet, it is much more difficult to NOT view pornographic material than to do so. Keeping all of that in mind, however, I will be blunt. Viewing porn is one of the best ways to damage healthy sexuality. But, more than just saying that viewing sex in such a shallow way is bad, I want to explain WHY and how pornography becomes addictive and negatively affects present and future relationships. Please read more for the answer…

Fly from bad companions as from the bite of a poisonous snake. If you keep good companions, I can assure you that you will one day rejoice with the blessed in Heaven; whereas if you keep with those who are bad, you will become bad yourself, and you will be in danger of losing your soul.

–St. John Bosco

In an Anglican Church, each service begins with a greeting. The officiating clergyman says, “The Lord be with you.” The congregation used to respond by saying, “And with thy spirit.” But, with the modernizing of the liturgy, the minister now says, “The Lord be with you.” and everyone responds with, “And also with you.” One Sunday a visiting bishop went to a church where the sound system was known to be old and unreliable. As he approached the microphone, he tapped it several times and finally said, “There’s something wrong with this!” Without hesitation the whole congregation answered faithfully, “And also with you.”

A man was telling his neighbor, “I just bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but it’s state of the art.”

“Really,” answered the neighbor. “What kind is it?”

“Twelve thirty.”
